Meet Zita Lakner

Known as “Zitaku” by river people.
Don’t take me serious, most likely I am joking.

I started kayaking at the age of 13 in my hometown Budapest. Soon the coaches put me in competitions and on my 10 years active athlete life I reached to be 5 times Junior National Champion, Vice World Champion as European medalist in Sprint kayaking.

When I finished my sprint career, the Woman Rafting team, needed me as a strong asset on the boat, for the Rafting World Championships. Sounded fun and since my whitewater journey started, as I fell in love in the sport first sight.

Since then I have been obsessed to be on the water every day as possible, travelling the world and seeking for more adventures. Soca river beacame my Europen summer base by her emerald beauty.

I had the privilige to gain my skills in other countries like Mexico, China, Costa Rica, but New Zealand became my biggest teacher with the amazing kayaking community and various rivers and waterfalls.

Proud to be still represent my country on varios events like Extreme Kayak World Championship and Europen Olimpic games.

And last, but not least passionate to pass the joy of kayaking  🙂

See you on the river <3
